Resilience Challenge Mission 2/5

Refuel & Retool

Every fighter pilot is required to have a minimum of 12 hours of crew rest between training sorties and combat missions.

The reason for this is because in the world of a fighter pilot, training and combat are highly stressful and can leave you physically and mentally drained. The pressures to perform, adapting to change, long hours, training requirements, and constantly changing “threats” can be get overwhelming.

Sound familiar?

Trust me. I’ve been there. Motivation and focus can diminish very quickly if one is not careful. And if you’re not resilient, the results can be disastrous.

Bottom line – burnout and fatigue are killers in the world of fighter pilots and aviation, and they can also kill growth, performance, and morale in the stressful world of business and life.

Pulling back on the throttle and getting yourself in the hangar for much needed maintenance are critical if you want to be a peak performer. It will help you re-energize your mindset, build resilience, an allow you to refuel your airframe and get back in the air at full power.
