When you are strapped into the cockpit of an F-16 at 600 knots, you know you are going places. And fast!
Obviously, daily life can move much slower, and it can be difficult to see the forward progress we are making at times. That’s why looking back can be so important.
You see, many times we are so focused on the challenges and goals ahead, that we don’t take a minute to review the amazing challenges we have overcome. We don’t celebrate the goals we have achieved or reflect on the progress we have made. If not careful, it can suck the joy out of life.
Taking a few minutes each week, or perhaps an hour each quarter, to look back on what you’ve achieved can be a huge tool to keep you motivated. It can provide the thrust and inspiration needed to stay on track (even when turbulence comes,) and help you experience the happiness that results from growth.
